and the sound of crackling wood in a fireplace.

My favorite season is winter.

My favorite book genres are magical realism,
middle grade, and children’s literature.

I try to write in the same genres,
though I let each story choose its own path.

Intuition and trusting my gut feeling are
the most important parts of writing for me.

Letting go of total control—
letting the characters speak—
is the most difficult part of writing.
